My Promise

It’s time to approach beauty with a focus on what’s important to you.  Maybe you’re a parent who only has 5 minutes to get ready in the morning, or a high school student breaking out right before prom. Maybe you’re a college student who wants to feel beautiful on a budget, or a professional woman who wants to feel put-together in her client meetings.

I want to be the blogger of the everyday woman. The one who has hopes and dreams beyond hoping that other people think she’s pretty. The one who can stay up late, wake up early, and do whatever she has to in order to accomplish what she sets her mind to.

I’m not here to show you a double-winged-blue-eyeliner-smokly-glitter-covered-contour-fake-eyelash tutorial (although I’d be very interested to see what that would look like). Why? Because odds are, you don’t need that to get ready every morning. I’m here to give you the tools, tutorials, and tricks you need to look and feel your best, every day.

Beauty practices have been around forever, and they won’t be going away anytime soon. But times are changing. It’s time to celebrate each person’s unique beauty. It’s time that there’s advice relevant to your specific needs and wants. It’s time to enhance the features you already have instead of conforming to what society thinks is beautiful. It’s time to find products that work for your skin, your lifestyle, and your wallet.

My two promises to you are these:

I will listen to you—your struggles, your wants, your thoughts, and your questions. I want to engage in a dialog rather than just sending beauty advice your way on a phone screen.

I will be honest with you. It’s hard to show the entire Internet what your face looks like without makeup. Everyone has some appearance-related insecurity—whether it is wrinkles, scars, acne, weight, the list goes on. The more we talk about these, and encourage others to love themselves regardless of these, the less we feel insecure, ashamed, or broken.

You’re appearance doesn’t define you. Let’s go out into the world, feeling and believing that we are beautiful, because we deserve it. We all do.

Love,
Margaret
